Want your content to show up in AI search? Start with video.

Your buyers are searching with ChatGPT, Claude, and Google’s AI Overviews. So how do you get your content to show up there?

Video is one of the best ways, and YouTube videos are among the most-cited sources in AI search.
You don't even need a big audience to get cited.

But you do need to get these few things right.
This video I posted on the Content Monsta channel shows you what those are.

Five things I cover in the video

  1. The One Question Rule. Answer one specific buyer question per video. This one change increases your odds of being cited by AI search more than anything else you can do.
  2. Say the full answer out loud. AI reads your transcript. If you speak the complete answer in plain language, your expertise ends up in the text that AI tools can find and reference.
  3. Support the video around the edges. A clear title, a relevant description, structured chapters, and a connected article all help AI understand what the video is about and why it matters.
  4. Long-form beats Shorts. Longer, thorough videos get cited far more often than short clips. And this holds true even when the view count is low.
  5. Build authority instead of chasing tricks. Keyword stuffing and quick hacks do not work here. Consistency and real expertise are what get your content found, by AI and by humans.

One number worth knowing

94% of YouTube videos cited by AI were long-form, and most of them had fewer than 1,000 views. Going viral is not the goal.
Being useful and answering real buyer questions is what gets you cited, the same way your best sales reps get remembered by prospects.

Watch the video for a deeper explanation. If you have been wondering how to get your content in front of buyers who start their research with AI, this is a practical place to begin.

Quantity plus Quality of Content is the key

I recently did a full Master Class (the word 'webinar' is dead, right?) on how to create both quality and quantity content.I'm sure someone has told you that you don't need more content; you need better content. That's only half of the good advice. The whole story is a little different than that. You need enough content before you can start saying you don't need more. Low output means nobody sees you, and that is silence. High output with nothing behind it is noise. AI ended that argument,...

We all want to know which marketing effort led to which business, but marketing attribution, as we know it, is dead. If you are still crediting closed deals the same way you always have, you are making budget calls on data that no longer tells the truth. I know this firsthand. I have silently influenced millions of dollars in software purchases. A brand I use, a software I kept seeing, a friend's recommendation, a platform I used at an old job and wanted again. The vendors never saw any of...

I'm sick of the word 'Podcast'. This might surprise you. Let me explain. Businesses are getting wise to something. Creating video content with their prospects, SME, and Executives is an amazing way to accomplish several things at once: Creating thought leadership to share to the world Being seen in more places (aka visibility) Brand awareness Speed to market in content creation So what's hindering them? The word "podcast." What businesses are creating today are not podcasts. They are simply...
